Member Spotlight: Q & A with Jeremy Nelson
We caught up with CENTRL Eastside Member, Jeremy Nelson, the General Manager for Lime in Portland.
Q: What is your great, good work? (What do you do?)
A: I am General Manager for Lime in Portland, and I help ensure that our e-scooters are safe, reliable, and fun to ride. If we can do this well, more and more Portlanders will choose Lime instead of driving their car for short trips around town. This will help reduce congestion and make “getting there” a much more enjoyable part of your day.
Q: What is your favorite part of your work?
A: My favorite part of my job, by far, is giving people the chance to ride their first e-scooter, and then watching a smile spread across their face as they hop and zip away. “Getting there” use to be the least favorite part of my day, now I look forward to it.
Q: Where are you going from here and what do you see in Lime’s future?
A: Lime will actually relaunch into Portland on 4/26/19 so there’s that! But, we’ll continue to improve the Lime experience beyond Portland by providing riders better scooters and other forms of micro-mobility options. For example, we’re currently experimenting with Lime carsharing right now in Seattle, so perhaps one day you’ll be able to use those in Portland for trips that are a little too far to reach by scooter.
Q: What do you like about working at CENTRL Office?
A: My favorite part about working at CENTRL office is that the CENTRL office team does such a great job of making work, fun! My workspace is great: but when it’s time to take a break, I find that there’s nearly always a nice treat to enjoy, or a fun event taking place. Special thanks to Bobby and Courtney for always making me feel at home.
