CENTRL Neighborhood Spotlight: Downtown Dallas

We know that a great workspace consists of more than just the physical office where you get your work done. That’s why at CENTRL, we believe it’s important (and healthy) to stay connected to the small things that brighten your workday, be it a quick trip to a gallery, sipping the perfect latte, or having great options for lunch or happy hour.

Luckily, there is no shortage of amazing local businesses to support near our Ross Avenue workspace in downtown Dallas. Located in the heart of the thriving Arts District, our members enjoy access to elegantly designed offices, steps away from a vibrant and walkable neighborhood full of locally owned cafés, bistros, pubs, performance venues, and art galleries. If you are looking for a better work-life balance then look no further!

Here’s a partial list of a few of our neighbors we think you’ll like and hope you’ll support. Just remember to bring your mask! We’ll also be giving shout-outs to more of our neighbors in future posts.

Coffee & Breakfast

Weekend Coffee

1511 Commerce St (Joule Hotel) Dallas, TX 75201
Weekend is a gem of a cafe located inside the historic Joule Hotel (on the Commerce side of the building). They serve excellent artisanal coffees with top-notch service in a relaxed setting. Their coffee offerings are handcrafted with care and the setting in the Joule couldn’t be any better; although the surroundings are opulent and full of wonderful art pieces, the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. We love their oat milk latte!

Magnolias Sous Le Pont

2727 N Harwood Street, Dallas, TX 75201
Sous Le Pont, meaning “Under the Bridge” in French, lives up to its name, as it’s located under the bridge of 2727 in the Harwood District. They offer an amazing selection of artisanal coffees, delicious sandwiches, and fresh salads and sandwiches. Their walls feature local artists, and you can also find everyday essentials, handmade gifts, and quirky cards. Try their iced “Love Poem” — a latte with white chocolate & rose syrup — you won’t be disappointed.

Lunch & Midday

Mendocino Farms

2000 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75201
Searching for the perfect spot for grabbing lunch? Look no further than Mendocino Farms, a sandwich shop committed to “selling happy.” Hailing from California, they opened in the Dallas Arts District earlier this year and are known for utilizing ingredients from local farmers and food vendors. We highly recommend their not-so-fried chicken sandwich, made with shaved roasted chicken breast and topped with Mendocino Farms’ signature “krispies.”

Royal Blue Grocery

2000 Ross Ave, Dallas, TX 75201
Located in the Trammell Crowe tower lobby, Royal Blue Grocery is a modern urban bodega where you can find a little bit of everything, ranging from gourmet goodies and Stumptown coffee to a full-service café and sandwich counter. You can also find a plethora of convenience items, along with grab-and-go meals, wine and gifts, sushi, and other locally sourced products.

After Work

Sloane’s Corner

2001 Ross Ave, Suite 125, Dallas, TX 75201
Looking for a place to relax after work? Be sure to check out Sloane’s Corner, an American Bistro located in the newly reimagined Trammell Crow Center. We love the ambiance here — a modern space with rose-colored chairs and steel fixtures. Happy hour starts at 2 pm and includes bar bites like burrata toast, smoked chicken wings and fried pork ribs. We also love their happy hour cocktail menu, which includes essentials like a margarita, sazerac, Manhattan and vodka mule.

Foxtrot

2822 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75204
If you’re looking for a nice glass of wine and a quick bite after work, Foxtrot Market is a great choice. Buy a bottle of wine and go enjoy it by the bonfire outside. They also offer healthy snacks — including all the paleo- dairy-free/gluten-free options — so you can easily pair your drink with something delicious. The outdoor patio is spacious and perfect for socializing, getting a little extra work done, or just people watching.
