It is an ideal location for those seeking a better work-life balance.

Want to take a coffee break in Europe? Located in the heart of the Pearl District, Caffè Umbria offers an authentic Italian café bar experience. In the mood for a chocolate whipped cream mocha? Nossa Familia Espresso Bar offers up a range of drinks and their coffee is roasted only steps from where it’s prepared. Stop by for fresh coffee, delicious cappuccinos, pastries (delivered daily from Fleur de Lis), and Brazilian cheese bread. Their coffee is also sourced directly from family-run farms.

If you’re hankering for a grab-and-go sandwich, you can’t go wrong at The Baker’s Mark. Water, flour, yeast, and salt are the only ingredients in their bread and they make all of their own mustards in-house for a classic style of deli sandwich. Their Dutch Crunch bread is fantastic, and we highly recommend trying the Godfather.

Prasad is one of the best spots in the Pearl for gluten-free and raw options. Their menu features a variety of fresh, organic juices and smoothies, healthy and delicious bowls, soups, salads and wraps, Stumptown french press coffee, and Foxfire teas. They also offer a small breakfast menu featuring gluten-free oatmeal and granola, a tempeh scramble, and gluten-free toast. Their pastries are from New Cascadia Traditional Bakery.

We love Oven and Shaker as an after-work spot for wood-fired pizza. They’re currently offering a great to-go food and drink menu with lots of craft beers and wines. You can also order any pizza with a gluten-free crust! We’re big fans of their Nostrana salad — which includes radicchio, parmigiano, and rosemary-sage croutons.

Fancying good beer in a great location? Deschutes Brewery is a popular destination for great craft beer, delicious food, and a relaxed atmosphere. Their 26 taps feature Deschutes mainstays plus a selection of seasonal and experimental beers that are brewed on-site. Definitely give their mango habanero chicken wings a try!

Want to catch a Trailblazers game after work? River Pig Saloon is a rustic neighborhood bar located inside the historic Gadsby Building. They’ve successfully recreated a friendly Cheers-like atmosphere in a space featuring ancient Douglas Fir beams and exposed brick — accents left over from The Pearl’s history of being home to loading docks and lumberjacks.
