Member Spotlight: Q & A with Mary Blalock

Q: What is your great, good work? 

A: I’m a career coach who works with women-identifying and non-binary people to create a strengths-based career path that fits their personality. I work 1:1 and through workshops, networking events, and masterminds that help women advance in their career. I enjoy giving behind-the-scenes insights and secret tips from my 12 years of experience working as a recruiter and 5 years as a career coach. I also co-founded a networking group and event series called Ladies’ Night PDX that that connects & empowers women in Portland.

Q: What is your favorite part of your work? 

A: My favorite part of my work is helping women negotiate their pay and finding a career path that empowers them to advance and grow in the future.

Q: Where are you going from here and what do you see in your future?

A: I’ve been hosting a lot of workshops and masterminds in Portland and have created a consistent schedule of 3 workshops that help you find direction, find a job, and find motivation and support to keep moving forward. 

Q: What do you like about working at CENTRL Office? 

A: The space at CENTRL is beautiful and there’s so much natural light, which keeps me energized in gray Portland weather. I enjoy our Women Work PDX community with free happy hour once a month. It’s a great community! The staff at CENTRL is an amazing group of people.
